TBT: #45 by illustrator V2

Illustrator Vincent Longo II (a.k.a. V2) graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Graphic Design & Minor in Photography. V resides in Lumberton NJ and continues to pursue his passion of art while making a living as a freelance artist & package designer for the past 30 years. Pen, ink and airbrush are V's mediums of choice creating his illustrations on board & paper, most of which emphasize the female form in a distinctive style descended from Art Deco. V starts with an idea and works down, always simplifying and removing elements which he feels are unnecessary, steering him even further into high contrast imagery than anything else. The resulting images emphasize those elements which he feels are most important. Inspired by artists such as Konig, Andy Warhol, Patrick Nagel, & Roger Dean, V continues to create simple and precise imagery as he keeps simplifying, working to get more across with fewer elements. V's sharp linear treatment, geometric simplicity, and stylization of form yield images that are formal yet decorative. V's original work can be seen on permanent display at our South State Street Gallery.
